Hunting for Minnesota sport cabin rentals? Bag one here.

When we write about Minnesota cabin rentals, we always keep in mind that people who rent cabins are also in search of a unique experience beyond the knotty pine walls: Family vacation, fishing getaway, golfing outings, bachelor and bachelorette parties, snowmobiling, off-the-grid adventure – the list is endless. For hunting enthusiasts, Minnesota vacation rentals are a great alternative to hotels because cabins, cottages and lodges put you “in the field”.

P&Y (Pope & Young) is the archer’s Holy Grail. The goal is to bag a buck big enough to qualify for the P & Y Club’s record book. In Minnesota, there are certain areas that produce these ‘book bucks’ every year. As luck would have it, has several rentals that put archer’s minutes from their tree stands along the notheast-to-central axis.

Here are the list of MN sport-cabins by towns that are IN THE RED.

NE – Saint Louis:
Ely, MN Cabins
Cook, MN Cabins
Orr, MN Cabins
Kabetogama, MN Cabins
Beaver Bay, MN Cabins

Central – Morrison:
Cushing, MN Cabins
Brainerd, MN Cabins

The state is known as the “Land of 10,000 Lakes” and has cabins and cottages on many of them. Another reason to stop by the website is that we offer a book direct service which guarantees the lowest rental rate every time. That’s right, you get to speak with area experts who can give you tips on hunting opportunities for all game:

Small-game hunting: Ruffed grouse, squirrels, rabbits, duck, pheasants, Canada goose, turkey

Hunting is a special bonding experience, and your private Minnesota cabin brings that experience inside too. We think you’ll agree, young people need to get outside more and experience what nature has to offer. There’s no APP that can duplicate these moments & memories “in the field”.

Numerous hunting seasons in the state begin in September – hunters must meet the state’s license requirements before taking to the fields and woods.

Searching for Minnesota resorts? Now you can see all resort cabins on one page has rolled out resort pages. Now, every Minnesota resort has their own “resort page” that displays an interactive map with pins to show the location of each MN rental, a description of the resort, the property website link, phone number, videos, and a display of each cabin details page at the bottom. We decided to create these Minnesota resort pages because it allows renters to see the exact location of each cabin plus learn more about the resort.

Check out an example of a resort page: Hyde-A-Way Bay Resort. This is a huge step in differentiating ourselves from the competition. Not only is it a great feature for renters, but it also adds extra exposure for multi-cabin resorts in Minnesota

How do Potential Renters Find the Minnesota Resort Pages?

The first way is through the Google map found on the homepage of our website. When renters click on a pin, a small window will display with an option to select that specific cabin details page or they can select “View more cabins at (Resort Name)”. Once the potential renter clicks on the “View more cabins at (Resort Name)” they will see the resort page. The image above with the blue circle shows where to find the resort pages.

The second way to find the resort page is through the cabin rental details page. If a vacationer is looking at the details page and wants to see more cabin rentals at the resort, they can select “View all (Resort Name) Cabins”. The blue circle above indicates how to find the resort page from a cottage details page.

How booking direct saves travelers money.

When it comes to booking directly with Minnesota vacation rental owners, very few websites are “truly” book-direct. Websites that list MN vacation rentals and Leech Lake resorts are plentiful, but there are not many that allow travelers to inquire, plan and book directly with the MN owners or local managers. Why?

Large third-party booking websites make money by charging its listing members a commission for every booking that goes through their booking gateway. But that’s not enough; now they are charging travelers a SERVICE FEE. Basically, travelers are paying extra just to use these online booking websites. It’s no surprise that they make it very hard for travelers to simply book direct.

Travelers have choices! is a book-direct alternative. Travelers have the same search experience WITHOUT paying traveler fees. Travelers also get the lowest rental rates online because we don’t charge our members commissions. The choices are simple: Travelers can either pay more, or get the lowest rate by booking direct.

Bring the Marshmallows!

Affordable Minnesota cabins, cottages, lodges and homes offer a unique vacation experience for couples, families, and groups – much better than a hotel experience. Your Cabin Time should never cost more. Avoid those large Online Travel Agencies (OTAs) traveler fees and book-directly with rental owners and local managers. Besides, they are your best tour guides.

Middleton, Wis. – The “book-direct” slogan gets tossed around in the hotel and vacation rental industry a lot lately. Two words which seem clear enough have recently become less clear now that Online Travel Agencies (OTAs) are moving to an online transaction model. Today, when OTAs refer to booking direct it does not mean directly with hotels or vacation rental owners/local managers. It means that travelers book “directly” through middleman websites. Wait… that means its no longer actually direct, right?

Travelers beware: many third party booking websites still waive the book direct flag, but only over their website properties. Booking though middleman booking websites is not actually booking direct. The OTA booking path has forked – unpredictable booking fees to the left and new traveler fees to the right – both roads resulting in extra fees for travelers

Have you been watching the hotel giants spend millions to clarify the meaning and benefits of booking direct? Did they just wake up and ask themselves “How did we become barnacles on the hull of these giant OTA freighters?” Did they wait to long to detach themselves? Their urgent shift to a true book-direct model sends a clear message to the booming vacation rentals industry: You want to control your booking process, customers and rental inventory, not lose control.

Though my JM Creative Group is a start-up business which competes with hotels for traveler dollars, we are inspired by their commitment towards clarifying what “book direct” means, and we embrace the same philosophy for the vacation-rental industry.

The travel business is ever changing and as the industry realizes the priorities of its customers, hopefully “book direct” will actually mean “book direct” once again.
